The West Beach area is one of the busiest and most popular in Gulf Shores, Alabama. West Beach is just west of Gulf State Park and sits between Little Lagoon to the north and the Gulf of Mexico to the south. The Gulf Shores Public Beach is located just off of West Beach Boulevard, but there are also private stretches of beach for guests of the numerous condos that line both Little Lagoon and the Gulf of Mexico. The area is full of older condos and new listings, with some that are still under construction or entering pre-construction, as well. Island Winds East and West, built in the 1980s, have consistently proven themselves a popular choice for a Gulf-front condo in West Beach. Although they are older, they have been well-maintained and offers all the amenities your typical Gulf-front condominium has. Newer condos, like The Lighthouse, built in 2006, were designed with luxury in mind. Like most Gulf-front condos in West Beach, Lighthouse has an outdoor, Gulf-front pool and beautiful private balconies overlooking the Gulf in every condo. Not all of the condos in West Beach are right on the Gulf. Mustique, one of the most popular luxury condos in Gulf Shores, borders Little Lagoon and guests have deeded beach access on the Gulf of Mexico, just a couple hundred yards away. Lagoon Tower is also a popular choice for those looking for a  beach vacation or even a second home. Lagoon Tower is a low-density development on the north side of West Beach Boulevard and deeded beach access on the Gulf of Mexico.  
Gulf Shores has been steadily growing for years and there are more condominiums being built in the West Beach area. ABACO, which shows a lot of promise and potential to become one of the most popular developments in the city, will be within easy walking distance of The Hangout and Bahama Bob's. Phoenix Gulf Shores, a mid-density tower with condos units still on the market, is slated to be finished in January 2017.
