Orange Beach Property Search

Orange Beach has come a long way in recent years. From a small town with a Gulf-front condos and a couple thousand residents, Orange Beach has grown to become one of the most promising cities on Alabama's Gulf Coast. Between 2000 and 2010 the population shot up 43.8% from 3,784 to 5,441 residents. This is due in part to the increase in job opportunities as more and more beachfront condos and golf course communities were built all over Baldwin County.
In the 2010 census, there were over 1,500 families in Orange Beach. With a median age of 45.5, most of these families are a little older, meaning most of the neighborhoods are more on the quiet side. However, this is becoming an increasingly popular area for newer families as new schools are being built in nearby cities. The neighborhoods in Orange Beach are comfortable and safe with a very low rate of violent crime. The South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, the closest hospital, is less than fifteen minutes away in Foley, Alabama. There are a number of community colleges and universities within a 100-mile radius of Orange Beach, including the University of South Alabama in Mobile, about an hour north. With construction of the Auburn University satellite in Gulf Shores as part of the Coastal Alabama Center for Educational Excellence, residents can expect more opportunities in higher education a lot closer to home.
The weather in Orange Beach is very beautiful for most of the year. The daily high temperature tends to be a little more than the national average, but that is to be expected this far south. There does tend to be more rain in Orange Beach than in a lot of cities further inland, but this is also to be expected. As part of the Gulf Coast, hurricanes do pass through occasionally, but most other natural disasters, like earthquakes, are very rare.
Although Orange Beach has grown, it is still a small town. As more changes are being made, including the construction of more Gulf-front luxury condos and beachfront homes, more and more career and educational opportunities will arise that will continue to make Orange Beach one of the most desirable residential communities on the Gulf Coast.
