Bay Minette is a small town in Alabama's Baldwin County. The population in 2000 was 7,820 and by 2010 it had risen by 2.9% to 8,044. Since the 1970s, Bay Minette's population has remained relatively even, wither periods of decline as well as growth. During the 2010 census, there were 2,744 households and, of those, 1,884 were families. Of 1,884 family households, 30.6% of them had children under 18 at home. There are seven public schools in Bay Minette that teach children from pre-k to 12th grade and Faulkner State Community College is nearby. While most people have attained a high school degree, relatively few have received a Bachelor's degree or higher. Bay Minette has a large population of workers in the manufacturing industry. In September 2015, unemployment in Bay Minette was at 5.2%, which is lower than the Alabama state average.  
Bay Minette is very close to the Gulf of Mexico, which means the area is vulnerable to hurricanes and tropical storms each year. Other natural disasters are a rarity. The last recorded earthquake to be felt in Bay Minette was in 2006. Temperatures in Bay Minette tend to be on the higher side, but typically still within  the national average. Rainfall in Bay Minette does tend to be well above the national average, but the area very rarely experiences snowfall.  
Although small, Bay Minette is located in a very naturally beautiful area of Baldwin County. There is a definite rural vibe even in the busier part of town that many people prefer to more urban cities, like Mobile just a few miles away. The town is not one of the wealthiest in Baldwin County, but that could change under the right conditions. The Gulf Coast is within easy driving distance of Bay Minette and is a popular destination for locals.

Bay Minette is a one of the larger areas in Baldwin County land-wise.  Located in Northern Baldwin County, Bay Minette houses many of the county administrations.  Much of Bay Minette is rural and heavily wooded and homes and real estate range from small residential homes to large ranch-style properties.  Bay Minette is close to several larger cities in the Southeast region including Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL and just under 2 hours from Montgomery; the Alabama state capital. Bay Minette is approximately 30 minutes from Pensacola, FL and also 30 minutes from Mobile, AL.  Both Mobile and Pensacola have regional airports and offer all of the amenities of larger metropolitan cities have like great restaurants, dining, shopping and both cities have minor league baseball teams.  Bay Minette is also close to the beaches of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, AL and also Perdido Key, FL.  For those not familiar with these beaches, they're white sand and widely considered some of the prettiest beaches in the world and a favorite vacation spot.
