Dollar for dollar, the Lighthouse condos is probably the best investment condos in all of Gulf Shores, AL. The building consists of approximately 250 units and all are directly on the gulf. Each of the units feature a "computer room" aptly named to comply with density issues. The great thing about the extra space is its predominant use as an additional bedroom. Numerous local business men and women and the mayors for Foley and Gulf Shores, AL met this morning to discuss current issues and future plans for a variety of topics relevant to South Baldwin County. The meeting was intended to discuss topics ranging from current and future growth to existing problems involving traffic and infrastructure. The mayors each took turns at the podium to answer questions and explain plans outlined by Foley and Gulf Shores for improvement. The meeting has hosted by the Baldwin County Board of Realtors and sponsored by Baldwin Title.

The 2014 Summer has lived up to expectations so far and the beach has been busier than ever, literally. It was projected last year that previous attendance and occupancy records would again fall to the heavy traffic of vacationing families from all over this part of the United States. Figures for the Spring quarter are indicative of this projection being again accurate, just as they were from last year, and the year before, and the year before that. The beach is again proving to be a favorite destination as a drive-to vacation spot for families everywhere.
Another successful music festival is in the books and the 2014 event is the consensus "best yet" according to, pretty much everyone. Over 40,000 patrons littered the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL from all over the United States. One of the biggest changes from last year was the size of the event. In 2013, the festival sold 27,000 tickets. After receiving permission from the city of Gulf Shores, the festival's ticket allocation rose from 35,000 to 40,000. They sold out.
Phoenix Gulf Shores is the newest pre construction condo planned for the Alabama Gulf Coast. There are currently only two Phoenix condominium in Gulf Shores; Phoenix All Suites and Phoenix All Suites West. Orange Beach, AL is home to the vast majority of Phoenix condos with numerous gulf front condos and also, Phoenix on the Bay I & II located in the Terry Cove area of central Orange Beach.
After a unanimous vote held by Gulf Shores City Council, new vacation rental regulations will go into effect next year. These revisions were made to the business license ordinance. The new guidelines include: monthly lodging tax reports must be submitted based on individual business licenses and a local contact must be designated for each rental dwelling in case of an emergency or complaint.
In other news, Citizen-serve Software has been contracted to design a database that will keep track of all rental properties. The initial costs for this contract is $54,500 for the first year.
