Gulf Shores Hangout Festival

Sunset at the Hangout in Gulf Shores, AL during the 2014 music festival Another successful music festival is in the books and the 2014 event is the consensus "best yet" according to, pretty much everyone.  Over 40,000 patrons littered the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL from all over the United States.  One of the biggest changes from last year was the size of the event.  In 2013, the festival sold 27,000 tickets.  After receiving permission from the city of Gulf Shores, the festival's ticket allocation rose from 35,000 to 40,000.  They sold out.

Some of the highlights for the festival involved Amos Lee, who on Saturday, brought out Mobile's Port City United Voices choral ensemble during his performance.  Another surprise involved the Avett Brothers and a shuttle bus.  Seth and Scott Avett reportedly hopped on the bus meeting the fans and giving the entire bus VIP upgraded tickets.  It was quite an event according to bystanders.  All in all, the concert was a great success and the planners and organizers have already been quoted as saying they were making mental notes for changes to improve the event in 2015.  Click here for the Hangout website and information.
