Clearwater condo is located just under a mile east of Hwy 59 on Beach Blvd, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It is extremely close to the Gulf Shores state park and the fishing pier. It is an 8 story mid-rise condominium with only 32 units.The building consists of one bedroom interior units that are 640 square foot and corner units that are two bedrooms that are 960 square foot. The really nice feature that each of these units offer is bunk beds that are built into the hallway, that provide additional sleeping space (one bedroom sleeps 6 and two bedrooms sleep 8).

However, the complex owns 75' of beach front ground where they have built an air conditioned walkover to access the MILLION DOLLAR BEACH SIDE POOL and beach. Crystal Tower features a gulf front resort pool that includes a hot tub and a lazy river type water feature. The pool deck offers decorative brick paving and a covered gazebo. Island Winds condos are the closest condos to the Gulf Shores Hangout to the West. There is a boardwalk that leads all of the way to the Gulf Shores Hangout. Island Winds East and West are two of the very first concrete, tower type complexes in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The complex is located just on the west side of Hwy 59 and border the Gulf Shores Public Beaches. Island Winds consists of two 8 - story , 87 unit buildings. The complex was built in 1983. Each building consists of 1-2-3 bedroom units. The units range from 600 sq. ft, 82 sq. ft., and 1234 sq. ft. respectively. Being that this is an older complex, the units tend to be slightly smaller than the newer complexes. Lighthouse Condo in Gulf Shores which has been the best rental property in Gulf Shores since it's completion in 2006. The Lighthouse condominium was probably the most awaited and sought after complex in Gulf Shores history. On the release date for the pre-construction project for the Lighthouse, our company received over a thousand reservation applications in 24 hours from investors across the nation. Our developer stopped taking reservations at this point due to the fact that there were only 251 units to offer. This 19 story complex offers 1, 2,3 and 4 bedroom units ranging from approximately 900 to 1600 square feet on the corners. It offers a superb location, just 1/2 mile from hwy 59 in the heart of Gulf Shores, AL. The Lighthouse is a great place to vacation with it's proximity to some of Gulf Shores' favorite attractions, such as: the Gulf Shores State Park, the Gulf Shores hangout, and the Gulf Shores state fishing pier; all are within easy walking distance. There is also a menagerie of shops, restaurants and other family oriented attractions
The Lighthouse offers many different floor plans. It is one of two buildings on the beach that offer a "computer room". Regatta condo in located in the heart of downtown Gulf Shores, AL and walking distance to the Gulf Shores Hangout. The Regatta in the closest actual condominium to the Hangout and public beach, considering that the Phoenix All-Suites is a condotel. A condotel differs from a condominium in the rights of owners and ownership of the condo. A condotel is not owned out-right like a condo and things like decor changes and rental management options are limited.
All of that said, the Regatta is approximately 200 to 300 yards from the Hangout and also walking distance to numerous downtown restaurants, beach front shopping outlets and a variety of area attractions. The Regatta in Gulf Shores is one of a small handful of condos that are designed like a horseshoe and all of the units do not offer direct gulf views. The way Regatta is designed, some of the condos offer side-views of the Gulf of Mexico, but the sheer location makes the Regatta one of the best places to stay in all of Gulf Shores, AL. Royal Palms is the last condo in Gulf Shores, AL before leaving and getting in to Orange Beach, AL. Royal Palms is the closest condo to the Alabama state fishing pier and all units are direct gulf front. Royal Palms is located 1 mile east of Hwy 59 in Gulf Shores and directly borders the Gulf State Park. This 14 story, 101 unit building is a poured in place, concrete, high rise condominium. It is situated directly on the beach and offers great views of the beach and Gulf. The building consists of one bedroom / two bath, 650 square foot units and two bedroom / two bath, 941 square foot units. Royal Palms was developed in 1999 by Chip Harbour.
The complex offers unique floor plans that include an area for built in bunk beds in both the one and two bedroom units. This offers additional sleeping space which is much desired in most rentals. San Carlos condo is similar to the Lighthouse and rents very well. The only significant difference is that San Carlos does not have an indoor pool. San Carlos is located in the heart of Gulf Shores and only .2 miles East of the Hwy 59, Beach Blvd. intersection and walking distance to many local restaurants (including the Hangout), pubs, shops, and the state park pier. San Carlos is considered one of the most upper scale complexes in all of Gulf Shores. The high-rise building is 19 stories with 142 gulf front units. The complex offers two bedroom , three bedroom interior and three bedroom corner and penthouse units. The condos are larger than the "typical" units on the beach ranging from 1,224-2,154 sq. ft. Unit features include granite counter tops, high ceilings, crown molding, floor to ceiling windows, wet bar and a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. The complex amenities include a large outdoor pool with zero entry, barbeque area, covered parking, fitness area, sauna, and a huge owners lounge/meeting room.
The San Carlos condominium has an interesting history. It was completed in 2007 in the midst of a volatile real estate market. San Carlos was developed by the same developer as the Lighthouse condo, but what a difference a year can make. The real estate market was in full decline by the time the complex was nearing completion. This resulted in a large number of the original pre-construction buyers not closing on their units due to the faltering Gulf Shores real estate market. The aforementioned developer was left holding approximately 80% of the units. The developer sold the units to an investment group at a discounted price. This investment group held the units hoping for a quick turnaround in the real estate prices. A turnaround that did not happen and prices continued to drop. The investment group were forced into foreclosure. San Carlos condominiums began a trend in our area for a solid year....real estate auctions.
San Carlos became one of the first Gulf Shores, AL real estate auctions. It saw 1,400 potential investors participate (from over 30 states) to purchase the units at discounted prices. Subsequent to this auction, a negative perception was spawned which seemed to last for almost a full year. In actuality, what really happened was many San Carlos buyers got great deals on a very nice, well-built condominium.
