Do you know Gulf Shores, Alabama receives over 6 million visitors every year? Besides the close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, The Rookery and Rookery III offer great amenities including a community clubhouse, outdoor pools, hot tubs, grilling & picnic areas, and tennis courts. The Rookery has designated boat and trailer parking for those who want to venture out into the bay or gulf for a day of fishing or sightseeing. The Pines Boat Launch is about 2 miles east of The Rookery and offers a public ramp with direct access to Bon Secour Bay.

Several restaurants such as Sassy Bass Amazin' Grill and Tacky Jacks are close by and offer fresh seafood and live music. Other nearby attractions include Historic Fort Morgan State Park (7 miles west), numerous nature trails, offshore fishing charters, and award-winning golf courses at Kiva Dunes and The Peninsula. Mobile Ferry sits at the end of the Fort Morgan Peninsula and offers 40-minute rides over to Dauphin Island known for it's the Sea Lab, Estuarium, and Fort Gaines (another Civil War historic fort).
