East Beach area of downtown Gulf Shores with condos labeled

The East Beach area of downtown houses more condo units / acre than anywhere else in the area.  The main road in to Gulf Shores is Hwy 59 and it ends at the Gulf Shoes Hangout sitting directly on the Gulf of Mexico.  This East Beach area is currently being completely reconfigured and expanded.  The Gulf Place and its revitalization project, is part of the city's "Vision of Sunsainability 2025" plan to make this downtown area more pedestrian-friendly and by creating bypasses, improving infrastructure and adding numerous amenities.

Before this huge addition, he biggest change to date, had to be the Lighthouse.  For those beach-goers with enough trips under their belts, the Lighthouse was a motel prior to 2004 with six small sections.  The motel sat on 600 feet of beach front and is now the most popular building in town and an ideal investment property with certain amenities that cater to diverse crowds and stay booked.

During this same time, several other condos were built in this area of East Beach.  Seawind is next to the Boardwalk condominium which shares a gulf pier with Sea-N-Suds.  The family restaurant does seafood like you'd expect it in the South - fried and fresh; there's a great salad bar and menu full of other options and the view is hard to beat.

Island Shores and Island Sunrise sit next to the Boardwalk and not too far from the Gulf Shores State PierRoyal Palms is the gulf front condominium nearest the pier and The Colonnades is just West of Royal Palms.  The Grand Beach Resort is on the North side of Perdido Beach Blvd adjacent from the Colonnades.
