2019 Annual National Shrimp Festival - Gulf Shores, AL

The Annual National Shrimp Festival has arrived! Celebrating 48 years of entertaining both locals and out-of-towners, this popular beachside event features four days of live music, delicious food and is host to hundreds of talented artists and vendors showcasing unique crafts and merchandise! The Shrimp Fest is one of the busiest weekends for the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area attracting nearly 300,000 visitors each year! Most of the parking around the festival site is first-serve, first-come with many spaces rented out by private businesses and residential homes. We recommend arriving early (gates open at 10am) for a better chance of finding a parking spot or you can take one of the shuttle stops (see below for locations).

Fish Rubbings Shrimp Fest

On display are beautiful paintings, photography, and sculptures inspired by the Gulf Coast. One of my favorites include the Gyotaku fish rubbings by Fred Fisher. In addition to arts and crafts, the weekend will be packed with exciting activities including contests, cooking demonstrations, and full line-up of musical performances each day. This year's headliners include The Tip Tops, Journey to Mars, Velcro Pygmies, Mustache' The Band, The Groovinators, and Voodoo Bayou! Additional Shrimp Fest events include the 5K & 10K Run at Bayou Village, Sand Sculpture Contest, Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant, and Singing for Scholarships competition.

The weather is looking fantastic this weekend so head over to Gulf Shores and enjoy great music, amazing art, and delicious food including plenty of shrimp dishes and our all-time festival favorite, the Cajun Pistol!
