Gulf Shores, Orange Beach & Perdido Key Boating Communities

Not everyone has beach fever.....many of the vacationers and especially local residents would rather be on the water.  Whether you're just cruising the back waters or fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, here is information for some of the better condos with deep water access.  We'll start in the Fort Morgan area and move East toward Perdido Key, FL.  You can view pages with all of the condos using thumbnails and brief descriptions for location using the following links:  Gulf Shores condos with boat access | Orange Beach condos with boat access | Perdido Key condos with boat access.

Approximately 17 miles down state hwy. 180 or Fort Morgan rd. is Navy Cove and the Rookery, which is actually a group of cottages on Mobile Bay and only minutes from the Gulf of Mexico after going around the tip of the Fort Morgan peninsula.  Gulf Shores, AL doesn't really have many places close to an entrance to the gulf, so we'll skip in to Orange Beach, AL.  The first condos you'll run in to will be the condos at the Wharf which is probably 25-30 minutes from Perdido Pass.

The closest condos to Perdido Pass is called the Pass which is literally at the entrance to the gulf at the base of Perdido Pass on the West side of the bridge.  The second closest and one of the more popular condos due to its proximity to the gulf and robust amenity package is Caribe.  The Caribe resort consists of 4 towers and has about every amenity you could think of.  Porto Del Sol, Legacy Key and Bella Luna are all close to Perdido Pass and relatively new and offer plenty of amenities and creature comforts.  Across from Terry Cove is a group of condos with a straight shot to Perdido Pass (probably 10 minutes).  Walker Key, Phoenix on the Bay I & II, Bayshore Towers, Back Bay, Harbor Cove, the Moorings and Mariner Pass.  The condos just mentioned are all newer developments, but there are numerous smaller condos in the Terry Cove area that offer an opportunity to put your boat in the water at an economical price.

One of the local's favorite places to go in the Summer is Robinson Island which is only accessible by boat and is situated near the entrance to Perdido Pass.  The water is relatively shallow for 20 - 30 yards and then drops off to 20 - 30 ft. fairly quickly.  In the Summer, you can spot boats lined up along the shore of this small island.  Next to Robinson Island is a even smaller island that's more family oriented called Bird Island.  Both are similar, but Robinson Island tends to bring in a younger crowd.  If you decide to visit these hidden gems, be careful not to motor in between the islands as this area is a wildlife area and the props chew up the grass that many of the resident creatures use for various things.

Perdido Key is home to a variety of condos, some of which actually are situated on the Gulf of Mexico, but also have boating facilities across the street offering the best of both worlds.  Perdido Key has rental properties, but is more of a second home market with many of the condos being rent restricted meaning guests may have to rent for prolonged stays unlike many of the condos on the Gulf Coast in Alabama.  If you would like more info for Perdido Key, FL condos that offer deep water access and / or both gulf and boat accessibility, please email aaron@condoinvestment.com or call (251) 978.3718 to discuss how one of our team members can help with questions, private viewings, recent sales prices info and other helpful sales info for condos for sale with boat access for sale in Perdido Key, FL.
