Something big is cooking this weekend at the The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama. The renowned 2017 World Food Championships is the largest food sport competition in the world with 1,000+ contestants competing in a culinary showdown from all over the globe. Taking place November 7 - 12, the five day event will be jam-packed with exciting activities including the World Food Games, giveaways, cooking demonstrations, seminars, and live musical performances. Four chefs from local restaurant favorites, Flora-Bama Yacht Club, Flora-Bama Ole River Grill, Driftwood Steakhouse, and Ruby Slipper Cafe in Orange Beach, will be competing in this year’s tournament. Admission is free for all visitors, and if desired, can purchase $5 tickets to enter the Tasting Village and sample delicious dishes from popular local, regional, and national food brands. Additionally, attendees can splurge on $50 daily passes or $150 weekend passes to gain access to the WFC’s VIP lounge and try first-hand the winning dishes from competitors’ tables while hanging out in the best viewing spot - in the middle of all the action. Don’t miss out on other exciting events taking place throughout the weekend such as the Low Country Boil, Bourb’N’Que, Around the World in 100 Bites, Yacht Club Dinner Party, and Jazz Brunch. The Wharf’s Marlin Circle will be buzzing with thousands of foodies taking part in fun activities and enjoying live musical performances from local favorites, Shelby Brown, Brigham Cason, Tommy Morse Band, and Fat Man Squeeze.
