Let's be honest: the best part of most vacations is trying new food and local specialties wherever you go. Whether you're looking for fine dining for date night, a casual eatery you can bring the kids to, a delicious and filling brunch, or even some place that will deliver when you're too worn out to go to a restaurant, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach has a wide variety of solutions even the pickiest eaters.

This area of Alabama is famous for its fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, so seafood restaurants are a staple around here. When you're looking for a quick bite in a very casual setting, The Shrimp Basket in Gulf Shores can't be beat! Grab a fried shrimp or catfish basket or try one of the famous house specials, which includes a "fresh catch of the day" option. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, but still casual and kid-friendly, head over to Cosmo's in Orange Beach. There you can grab some fresh seafood, a cold drink, and enjoy some of the best service on Alabama's Gulf Coast.

Looking for the perfect place to kick back and watch the game with some great food? The Island Wing Company in Gulf Shores is a spectacular choice, with plenty of televisions for guests to watch the game while they chow down on some of the famous baked wings and a cold bushwacker. For a similar experience in Orange Beach, head to the Hurricane Grill and remember to grab some Hurricane Nachos to go with your entrée!

When you're looking for a hearty breakfast to start your day in Gulf Shores, it doesn't get better than the Gulf Shores Diner. This classic diner serves up some of those traditional comfort foods that the south is known for, including homemade pot roast and biscuits and gravy. If you're out in Orange Beach, the famous Ruby Slipper serves up traditional southern and Creole classics for breakfast, lunch, and even brunch. Originating in New Orleans, the Ruby Slipper is famous around here for their Bloody Mary made with bacon-infused vodka and large breakfasts that keeps everyone coming back for more!

Everyone has those days where they really just want to stay in, watch a movie, and enjoy having someone bring the food to them. China Dragon, in Gulf Shores, is a local favorite when it comes to Chinese delivery. With traditional favorites like egg drop soup and sweet and sour chicken, this place is the perfect option for movie night in your Gulf Shores condo. Take out from El Toro Mexican Restaurant is also a local favorite, especially their famous queso dip!

Orange Beach condos offer a romantic beach getaway, making them popular choices for honeymooners and many are even singled out for destination weddings by couples all over the country. While you're here, enjoy a romantic date night at Voyager's, a local favorite for fine dining right on the beach. Fresh seafood, juicy steak, and an extensive wine list really set Voyager's apart from neighboring restaurants. Just be sure to make call in a reservation!
